Antique Edwardian Rare Large Black Jet Floral Mourning Brooch, intricate Floral carving with Lucite Backing

This splendid antique brooch dates back to the early years of the 20th century, the Victorian or Edwardian era when ladies in mourning would wear this type of jewellery.
The large brooch features an elaborate three dimensional floral carving in genuine Jet in the centre onto a lucite faceted Oval backing .
The ‘C’ shaped clasp and secure pin date it to pre 1920 and there is a fine ring at the centre of the top to wear on a chain, very versatile.
The brooch measures 4.8 cm wide x 3.8 cm and remains in excellent condition, as good as the day it was made. Comes in a gift box .
