Antique Edwardian Red Silk Evening Bag, Ornate, engraved silver plated frame and clasp set with Marcasite

This simply stunning antique evening bag, dates back to the early years of the 20 th century and will add a touch of elegance and glamour to any formal outfit, perfect for a wedding, prom or girls night out.
The soft body of the bag is made from red grosgrain silk, pleated onto an engraved ornate silver plated frame. The frame features an intricate section at the front which is set with sparkling Marcasite with fan shaped push clasp, absolutely stunning!
The bag has a silver link chain handle. Inside is lined in gold silk and there are 2 internal pockets , trimmed with fine gold leather.
Measures 7” wide x 5” x 1.75” at the base and sides and remains in excellent vintage condition externally, however, there is a small area on the back where the fabric is coming away slightly from the frame, but it is still strong and very useable. The lining is slightly marked through age and use. This does not detract from the beauty of this bag .
