Vintage 1940s Purple Floral Petite Point Large Evening Bag, gold tone metal with intricate floral embroidery, vintage wedding

Step back in time to the fabulous forties with this simply stunning vintage floral evening bag, one of the most exquisite bags we have ever had and perfect for any formal event.
Made from a delicate petite pointe tapestry, it is beautifully decorated with individual panels of intricate floral embroidery to the front, back, top frame and sides and base of the bag onto a rich violet purple background.
It has a gold tone frame with a rollover sprung top edge with decorative gold metal trim, that has a strong spring that will keep the bag closed securely.
The bag has a short gold tone chain strap and Inside is lined in purple Taffetta with an internal pocket on both sides and a matching envelope style purse, may have originally contained a vanity mirror.
Measures 9” wide x 6.5” x 2” at the base and sides and remains in excellent condition. A simply stunning treat to use every day, for a formal event or to give as a sustainable gift.
