Antique Oval Micro Mosaic Brooch, 1920s Floral Design On Brass

Italian Micro Mosaic is made up from tiny pieces of glass called treserae, arranged to form an image. An art form that represents a real labour of love by skilled artisans, some pieces can date back as far as the 17th century.
This fabulous antique brooch dating from the late 1920s onwards is a fine example of Micro Mosaic. The oval shaped brooch is beautifully decorated with a glass mosaic in an intricate floral milli fiori design with onto a brass backing.
The brooch has a secure safety pin catch which dates the piece to the 1920s and the colours remain bright and vibrant.
Remains in excellent vintage condition for its age, the brass backing is a little tarnished but this would never be noticed when the brooch is worn. Comes in a gift box, a delightful sustainable gift .
