Vintage 1930s/40s Indian Zardosi gold work peacock black velvet clutch bag. Peacock lover gift.

This exquisite bag would add a touch of 40s glamour and sophistication to any occasion.
Made in the 1940s, probably in India, it features an intricate peacock embroidery onto black velour to the front flap in gorgeous vibrant colours.
The bag has a border of Indian zardosi embroidery worked on gold tone, wires and silk threads.
The back is plain velvet, the flap has a stud fastening and the bag is lined in black satin with twin internal pockets.
Measures 8"x 5" x 2.5" at the base.
Excellent vintage condition.
Would have originally has a short cord strap but that has been removed before the bag came to us. Works perfectly well as stylish clutch. 
A must have for any lover of peacocks like myself.
