Vintage French 1930s/40s gold and black floral brocade evening bag, wedding, formal event.

This simply stunning vintage evening bag was hand made in France in the pre war period of the 1930s/40s and is typical of the style of the era.
It has a soft brocade body woven with metallic thread in an intricate floral pattern in black and gold, pleated onto a delicate gold tone metal frame. It has an ornate floral gold tone metal clasp with a faux pearl bead in the centre and has a diagonally set fine chain handle. It is lined in rich cream satin and there is an internal pocket that still has the original vanity mirror inside, just the ticket to slip out and check your lipstick on the go! The Label inside reads ‘Made in France’.
Measures 7” x 4.5 “ and remains in excellent vintage condition, there is a slight scratch on the pearl in the clasp but given the age and the condition of the rest of the bag, this really is a minor issue.
