Vintage HANAE MORI ( Madame Butterfly) 1970s/1980s Large Pure Silk Butterflies Scarf, Polka dots and butterfly print

Hanae Mori, or Madame Butterfly as she was often called, founded her fashion house in the 1950s and became the first Japanese woman to be admitted into Paris Haute Couture.

This fabulous pure silk scarf features her distinctive butterfly motifs in pink and lilac shades onto a pale gold, beige and cream dotty background in the centre. The silk is woven through with the distinctive ‘HM’ monogram branding.

The scarf has a wide maroon border with a hand rolled hem.

The care label is still attached, and has the Hanae Mori logo printed onto the bottom right hand corner.

It measures 29” square.

It remains in excellent vintage condition, ready to be loved and worn again.
