Vintage Mid Century Silver Lurex Evening Bag, Metallic fabric and Art Deco Style Frame

Add a touch of vintage glamour and sophistication to any outfit with this fabulous mid century glittering evening bag.
Made in the USA in the 1950s/60s, by HL or for someone with the initials HL, it has those intitials printed on the lining inside. The slightly padded body is made from silver lurex fabric, woven through with sparkling silver metallic threads. It has a simply stunning silver tone metal frame, it is not stamped but looks very much as though it is silver plated. The frame is made up from overlapping fan shapes, has a rectangular central lift clasp and a double Byzantine chain handle.
The bag is lined in oyster pink satin and measures 8” wide x 6.75” . It remains in excellent vintage condition , on very close inspection there are a couple of small very feint marks on the fabric, however these would never be noticed when the bag is used. A fabulous period piece , perfect for any formal event and ready to party once more.
